CEO & Scientific Director, CHEO Research Institute Vice President, Research, CHEO - Reporting to and supporting the Research Institute (RI) Board of Directors, the CEO & Scientific Director of the CHEO Research Institute is supported by RI Program Directors and a team of Scientists responsible for specific research portfolios within the RI, as well as the RI’s operations team that manages the performance of the RI’s financial, human and operational resources. CHEO’s Vice President, Research is a key member of CHEO’s executive team and reports to CHEO’s President & CEO, ensuring the RI’s strategic alignment with the Hospital’s strategy, and he/she actively participates in all hospital-wide matters, including strategy, general operations, finances, quality, risk management, performance management, human resources, information technology, etc.

Research Chair in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry The CHEO Psychiatry Associates (the CPA), in partnership with the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine, the University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) Research Institute, invites applications for a Research Chair position in the Child and Youth Mental Health research program.

RI-18-049 - Senior Contracts Officer The CHEO Research Institute (CHEO RI) has an immediate requirement for a temporary full-time Senior Contracts Officer. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, , the successful candidate will negotiate, draft and administer contracts and other agreements with Industry, Canadian funding agencies, research institutions and private sector companies for clinical research activities at the CHEO RI. The incumbent will provide support and guidance to researchers, administrators, and the CHEO RI’s external clients on management and execution of contractual research projects according to CHEO RI policy. The incumbent will also liaise with the Research Ethics Board on contractual aspects of proposed research studies.

RI-19-005- Post Doctoral Fellow - CHEO RI -Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Deshayne Fell, who is located at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute and the University of Ottawa. The Fellow will work on a program of epidemiological research focused on maternal infection and immunization during pregnancy and health outcomes in mothers and their children. This will include a study of vaccine effectiveness of maternal pertussis immunization on lab-confirmed infant pertussis, in addition to other potential projects identified by the selected applicant and/or by Dr. Fell. As most of the research will take place at ICES and involve the use of large, linked databases and clinical registries, superior data management, statistical analysis, and organizational skills are essential.
