Data Hub

The OCHSU Data Hub is based at CHEO and provides resources to researchers in the following areas:

  • We created an inventory of child health data sets to help investigators know what is available for discovery, the timeframes and variables for each, as well as how to access these data sets.
  • We provide guidance on initiating administrative data research projects with ICES and BORN and support analysis for qualified studies within ICES.
  • We provide consultation in the use of REDCap for collecting and managing research data in a web-based environment.
  • We are in the early stages of exploring ways to use clinical electronic health record data to answer questions in child health. Using the i2b2 common data platform, an open-source tool developed at Partners in Boston, our team is working on foundational elements of creating a clinical data research network.
